An Obstetrician/Gynecologist (OB/GYN) is a physician who cares for women’s health needs especially through pregnancy and childbirth.  The OB/GYN provides preventative women’s healthcare, family planning, prenatal care, and childbirth services. They can also diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases of women, particularly those affecting the reproductive system. OB/GYNs frequently are the primary healthcare providers for issues related to the female reproductive system.
